About Pads4Girls
At Pads4Girls, our mission is twofold:
- To make and give washable, reusable menstrual pads for girls who lack access to reliable menstrual hygiene products.
- To enable girls and women to make their own pads, supplying the sewing machines, materials and training to get them started.
Our Programs
- In the US, Rotarians and friends make pads and send them to girls in need. We have found that sewing together is great fun. Currently, groups are meeting in Bloomington, Mahomet, and Washington, Illinois.
- Abroad, Rotarians and friends fund pad-making projects. We have provided sewing machines, materials and training to get the pad-making started.

Our History
Since 2020, Rotarians have made and distributed almost 2,000 washable, reusable pads to girls and women in the following countries:
- Kenya
- Uganda
- Zambia
- Haiti
- Ghana
- Nicaragua
We have fostered (2) pad-sewing projects in Kenya (2), Uganda (2) and Nicaragua.
